Today’s Objective: Become acquainted with one another, discuss classroom routines and rituals, expectations, and begin watching Edward Scissorhands.
Agenda:
1. Welcome! I will be distributing a letter you can share with your folks, introducing myself as your teacher and how they can go about contacting me.
2. Talk about classroom routines and expectations. Also show y’all this really handsome website.
3. Discuss Mis-en-scene: what it is, its significance in film and what we are looking to analyze in our viewing of the film, Edward Scissorhands. Fill in the Mis-En-Scene Elements Notetaking Guide provided.
4. Briefly review the Edward Scissorhands prompt that will be completed after the viewing of the film.
5. Begin the film Edward Scissorhands and take note of lighting, color usage in scenes, costume/makeup and facial expressions on characters. This will all be helpful for your writing assignment.
