Agenda:
1. Finish developing your reasoning. Each group should indulge both sides of the argument.
2. You will fill out the graphic organizer provided, investigating the three appeals and possible logical fallacies that you could include in your lyrics– as a refute.
3. I will check your reasoning to ensure that it fulfills the criteria of logos, pathos and ethos.
4. Finish develop ing your song lyrics using the scaffold provided and select instrumentals.

2. Upon completion, we will review the parameters of our summative assessment, Rap Battles.
3. You will then form groups of 4 (max) and begin deciding a topic that you would like to argue for/against in your Rap Battle. You must come see me for approval.

Today’s Objective: Continue our next unit on Literary terms and their role in our Analysis of literature.
Agenda:
1. Finish creating a visual representation, connecting a Language and Style literary element to one depicted in Kate Chopin’s Story of an Hour. Submit mini-poster upon completion.
2. Any and all missing work that has been assigned (related to the Personal Narratives and/or Mini Posters) must be submitted by the end of this class period. Otherwise, it will remain a zero in Aspen x2.

Students will in these groups will select 3 literary terms discussed in the PPT and create a visual representation of those terms. This will test literary term comprehension and a student’s ability to present information in a new medium.
3. When groups finish, students can then begin to read Kate Chopin’s Story of an Hour and identify the literary terms we had just reviewed within the text.

3. In a group of three, you will begin the Literary Terms Mini-Poster Project. 2. If you haven’t already, please finish your brainstorms based on the prompt you have selected.
3. Begin composing your story. This should be two to four pages long, double-spaced, either in your notebook, on looseleaf or through Google docs.
4. Once your composition is complete, review the Writing and Editing checklist to ensure you have met the basic requirements of this assignment.
5. If there’s time, pick a partner and begin to Peer review each other’s work.

Today’s Objective: Become acquainted with one another, discuss classroom routines and rituals, expectations, and begin a Personal Narrative writing assignment.
Agenda:
1. Welcome! I will be distributing a letter you can share with your folks, introducing myself as your teacher and how they can go about contacting me.
2. Talk about classroom routines and expectations. Also show y’all this really handsome website.
3. Taking a break from the norm: we will do a fun personal narrative writing assignment so we can get to know each other better.
4. Select a writing prompt that you are interested in.
5. Begin brainstorming before writing.
6. Begin writing your personal narrative. There is a 2 to 4 page writing requirement.
7. If you finish, you may begin reviewing the Personal Narrative Writing checklist, to ensure your writing fulfills the autobiographical components required.
